Overview

Not everyone wants to cross a 3,900-metre pass — and Kyrgyzstan rewards the culturally curious just as richly. This eight-day tour follows the Silk Road and the nomad thread: the Burana Tower on the Chuy plain, the stone caravanserai of Tash Rabat on the old road to China, the bazaars and Sulaiman-Too of Osh, the Karakhanid minaret of Uzgen, plus museums, felt-making, an eagle-hunter demonstration and a night in a herder's yurt at Song-Köl. It is comfortable-paced, sleeping mostly in guesthouses and small hotels, with one memorable yurt night. We arrange the private guide, the transport and every meal, so you travel deep into the culture without roughing it.
