Overview

If you have a week, this is the trip. It threads the greatest hits of Kyrgyzstan into one unhurried loop: the Silk Road minaret at Burana, a yurt night on the Song-Köl jailoo, the stone caravanserai of Tash Rabat, the shores of Lake Issyk-Köl, Karakol's markets and churches, the red cliffs of Jeti-Ögüz, and the hot springs of Altyn-Arashan. You travel by private vehicle with a guide who knows the families and the back roads, ride horses where it's better on horseback, and sleep in a mix of yurts, guesthouses and small hotels. We include everything but flights and insurance, keep groups small, and pace it so you actually rest.
