About Omurbek's Yurt Camp

Omurbek runs the biggest of the family camps at Tash Rabat — eleven yurts plus a dedicated dining yurt, taking up to thirty guests, which makes it the practical choice for a group that wants a traditional camp rather than the glamping complex. Meals are cooked on site by Omurbek's wife and daughter-in-law. There is an oven in the yurts for the cold nights, which you will need: this is high pasture, and the temperature drops hard after sunset even in July. Toilets are at a distance from the yurts, in the usual arrangement. Livestock are part of the setting rather than scenery, and the camp only operates while the herds are up on the pastures, so it is a summer proposition. The caravanserai is close by. Caveats worth knowing before you book. The two sources on capacity disagree — CBT says eleven yurts and thirty guests, a booking platform says eight rooms — and two different phone numbers are published for the camp, so confirm which reaches Omurbek. The platform listing also advertises a sauna, room service, a gift shop and VIP check-in, which read as template categories rather than anything that exists in this valley; treat them as noise. No price is published, so ask through CBT. Expect no wi-fi and no phone signal.
