Sary-Bulun sits on the southern shore of Song-Köl at 3,016 m and occupies the middle ground: yurts furnished with proper beds, heating and electricity, and hot showers available — more than the family camps offer, without the scale of the big operator sites. Meals are provided, and the activity programme runs to horse riding, national horse games and the general business of watching how a summer pasture actually works. The southern shore is the quieter side of the lake and the approach used by traffic coming up from Osh, so this is a natural stop if you are crossing the country north to south rather than out and back from Bishkek. A fair amount isn't confirmed, though: yurt count, bed numbers, season window, toilet arrangements, wi-fi, languages and — importantly — price, so plan to check all of it when you make contact. There's no direct website, so you may need to book through an agent or ask to be put in touch with the camp. Expect the usual Song-Köl realities: cold nights whatever the month, and a rough approach road.
