About Yurt Camp Azamat at Song-Köl

Azamat is a family camp on the Kyzart side of Song-Köl, run by Venera with her mother doing the cooking, and it is the warmest-reviewed stay on the lake at 4.8 out of 5. Ten to twelve yurts of varying sizes, decorated in national style, with electricity, stoves that guests describe as pumping out heat overnight, thick warm blankets, western-style toilets, hand basins and showers. The beds are firm — several guests say hard — but the bedding and the pillows get consistent praise, and so does the food, described as first-class and served as breakfast and dinner. Horse riding is the main activity at 350 som an hour, with three-hour treks available and beginners welcome, plus horse games and a short climb to a viewpoint over the lake. The practical standout is the season: May through November is the longest window we found for any Song-Köl camp, which makes this the option if your dates fall outside the usual June-to-September band — though expect real cold at either end at 3,000 m. A 4x4 is recommended for the approach, and Bishkek is about five hours away. Caveats: the review base is small at five reviews, the price band is a platform average rather than a published rate, and there is no wi-fi or phone signal.
