This is a trekking camp rather than a destination in itself, and it is best understood by its position: 2,500 m in the Altyn-Arashan valley, 13.5 km on from the Almaluu camp and 12 km short of the Ala-Köl camp, which makes it a link in the chain of overnight stops along the Terskey Ala-Too traverse. If you are walking the Ala-Kul pass route rather than driving up for the hot springs, this is the shape of stay you want. The operator publishes coordinates and a set dinner — pea or potato soup, dymdama or lagman, and a crispy aubergine salad — which is more menu detail than most camps here offer, and the season runs 1 April to 15 October, the longest in the valley by some margin. Book by phone, WhatsApp or Telegram. Note carefully: Ala-Köl is the lake, Ala-Kul is the pass above it, and this camp sits below both. Caveats are substantial. No price is published anywhere we could verify, and neither is the number of yurts, the bed configuration, or the toilet, shower, electricity and wi-fi arrangements. Assume the valley standard — stove heat, pit toilets, no signal — and settle the rate by message before you set out. At 2,500 m in April or October, come prepared for genuine cold.
